Broncos Assistant General Manager Jamie Porter has been pretty busy over the last few days. He plays a huge part in organizing training camp. In between meeting with and dealing with all the young players and their families, he has to evaluate over 80 guys for both this year’s team and their list. I spoke to Porter the other day about the level of talent at camp, the young guys with a chance to make the club, the overage battle, competition for goaltending jobs and the veteran invites at camp.

For guys like 92 born Ryon Moser (former Lethbridge Hurricane) and 93 born Daniel Dale (former Raiders property) this is close to a last chance at the WHL level. They have junior experience and physical maturity, but they have to prove they are going to add significantly more to this team than a young guy would. They are players the watch over the last couple days of camp as the Broncos get set for their inter-squad game on Monday. Some proceeds from that game go towards diabetes research so I hope to see a lot of you there.
I’m just heading down to the rink now as Team Trottier is battling Team Tiger. I’ll have some updates on my twitter.
