The Swift Current Broncos were officially eliminated from post-season contention over the weekend. I had the chance to chat with Broncos Coach/GM Mark Lamb about missing the playoffs, his expectations this season and what he expects over the final two and a half weeks of 2011-2012.

The Broncos are in Calgary tonight for the first of a three game Alberta road trip. Swift Current hasn’t had much success against the Hitmen this season. They’ve lost 5-1, 7-1 and 4-3 in the three previous games. Check out some more details on the season series on Brad Curle’s blog.
Tonight is a big night for Broncos Captain Taylor Vause as I understand his family has helped organize a big group of Vause/Bronco fans to take in his final game in his hometown of Calgary as a Bronco. Every Alberta trip is a big one for this club with so many players from the province. We will see a huge group of parents in Calgary, Red Deer and Edmonton this weekend. Hopefully that will inspire the guys in three very tough buildings.
