Interview with Dr. Vause (Download)
Dr. Dean Vause will be back in his hometown of Swift Current on Friday for the Swift Current United Way kickoff breakfast. It runs from 7:30 to 9:15 a.m. at the Living Sky Casino Sky Centre.
Dr. Vause is the Executive Director of the Alberta Adolescent Recovery Centre in Calgary. His expertise and message about AARC includes the work they provide giving hope to teens caught in the downward spiral of addictions and the incredible success rate seen in these young people becoming productive citizens.
Dr. Vause is also a former Bronco and father of recent Broncos Captain Taylor Vause. Taylor won the WHL Humanitarian of the Year award last season for all he did in the Swift Current community, especially in raising awareness about diabetes. He is now playing for the Texas Stars of the AHL.
Midnight Roses will be performing live at the event and there will be door prizes and a silent auction. The United Way will be announcing their kickoff goal for their 2012 campaign and highlighting some of their focus areas going forward.
