Swift Current Broncos goalie Eetu Laurikainen left on Sunday morning from Victoria’s airport and headed to Finland’s World Junior Championship camp. Laurikainen has had a terrific start to his WHL career with a 0.916 save percentage and 2.55 goals against average through 32 games. In the last week alone he’s made 4 or 5 plays of the week worthy saves. Obviously whenever you lose one of the top goalies in the league for several weeks that is going to be a challenge for any team. That said, everyone is very happy for Laurikainen and wishing him well in his first opportunity to play for his home country.
