The Eagle 94.1 FM, Golden West Radio and sponsor Home Hardware in Swift Current are proud to bring you the debut of our new sports talk show on Monday night. Overtime will air live from Boston Pizza in Swift Current (when available) from 6pm to 7pm every Monday. It will feature interviews with local sports figures as well as opinions on local and national issues that sports fans in southwest Saskatchewan care about.
You are absolutely welcome (and encouraged) to join us live at Boston Pizza during the show. If we get a good response we may be able to work in an element of audience interaction. It should be an exciting night at BP as the NCAA National Championship game airs with Notre Dame taking on Alabama. It will also be a chance to talk about a huge week in the hockey world in a few ways.
Two confirmed guests on our first show will certainly be of interest to Bronco fans. We’ll catch up with former Bronco and current Ottawa Senator Zack Smith (Maple Creek’s own) on the end of the NHL lockout and the start of a shortened season. We’ll also have Broncos Coach/GM Mark Lamb live at Boston Pizza to discuss any number of topics… and I can only imagine questions about Thursday’s trade deadline will come up. There will also be a panel discussion including the likes of Terry Pavely, Ryan Switzer and others in future shows.
If you have any questions you want to contribute to the show leave them here in the comments, tweet me @shawnmullin, email me at shawn.mullin@goldenwestradio.com or text us at 306-773-0941. If you aren’t in our listening area you can click here to listen live.
The show is a work in progress and we are certainly open to suggestions from sports fans as to what you want to hear and who you would like to hear from. This show is for you and I’m looking forward to seeing it grow over the coming weeks and months.
I’ll talk to you live tonight at 6pm!
