Rookie Jake DeBrusk scored once and had three assists as the Swift Current Broncos scored four times in the second period on the way to a 6-3 win in Brandon on Friday night. The Broncos extended their winning streak to six games.

“He’s doing a great job of concentrating on working on the little things,” said Broncos Assistant Coach Jamie Heward. “He understands when he makes a mistake. He’s easy to talk to, easy to coach.”

“When his flashes come through and he has a second period like he did you’re going now that is how we want him to play. If he learns how to play on the other side of the puck he’s going to have no problems playing in this league and being very successful because he’s very talented.”

Connor Sanvido had a goal and 2 assists for the Broncos, while Zac Mackay, Andrew Johnson and Graham Black all had 2 point nights.
