What more could you want from a hockey game? That have everything. A lot of big hits, a few lead changes, displays of skill from future NHLers, some big saves, a “fight of the year” candidate (check back here for a video of the fight when it gets posted) and lots of building emotion between the two clubs. The fans who made it to last night’s game enjoyed what hockey is all about. I can’t wait for the re-match. Our pre-game show starts at 7pm from Medicine Hat on Saturday night.

Tonight a couple of southwest teams are joining the “Hockey Fights Cancer” ranks. The Female Midget AAA Diamond Energy Wildcats host the Yewllowhead Chiefs Saturday nigh at the Fairview West Arena. Their 50/50 will go to breast cancer research and they will set up a bin for donations. The Wildcats also had special pink jerseys made for the game as well. The Junior B Cypress Cyclones are also having a “Hockey Fights Cancer” night when they host Saskatoon in Maple Creek on Saturday. It is a good cause and good hockey so support both teams. The Midget AAA Home Hardware Legionnaires are also at home on Saturday night. They are missing Broncos prospect Jordan Wittman and Raiders prospect Tim Vanstone to the U16 event in Moose Jaw. Saskatchewan is 0-2 so far. Bronocs prospect Brycen Martin and Team Alberta beat Team BC 2-1 to go to 2-0 so far at the event.
