The Swift Current Broncos struck twice on the power play and held Saskatoon to 0 for 4 on the man advantage in a 5-3 victory over the Blades on Friday night.

The two teams meet again on Saturday in Swift Current.

“Our penalty killing has gotten a lot better in the last two or three weeks here,” said Broncos Associate Coach Darren Evjen. “We had to get better and we’ve used some different guys.”

“Pucks aren’t going through us all the time. We’re getting a little more desperate where we’re going to block a shot and if we don’t block it at least we’re making them pass and not get a shot on net for the rebound.”

The power play was 3 for their last 34 heading into the game on Friday. Evjen felt it had been doing good things in recent games.
