Eetu Laurikainen made 47 saves leading the Swift Current Broncos to overtime, but the Wheat Kings still beat them 3-2 in a shootout on Tuesday night.

“Eetu played very well,” said Broncos Assistant Coach Jamie Heward. “I think that’s why you take a chance and carry a 20-year-old goaltender. When he’s that good he’s that good. It’s unfortunate we gave up that many shots, but he played very well and I think he stole us a point.”

Laurikainen didn’t mind all the action.

“There was shots all the time so I was kind of warm all the time and was able to make saves,” he noted.
