For 37 minutes the Swift Current Broncos appeared to be on the right track in Edmonton on Friday night.

They had contained the high powered Oil Kings to limited shots and chances with an effective defensive game and created some good pressure in the Edmonton zone. That is until two turnovers ended up in the back of their net and suddenly the first place Oil Kings had a 3-1 lead and skated to a 4-1 win.

“You do it to yourself,” said Broncos Associate Coach Darren Evjen. “That’s the worst part about it. It’s not like created something. We turned the puck over twice and they get two goals off of it. It’s deflating, but if you’re got to recover from it.”

The Broncos have now lost three of their last four games and sit six points back fo the WHL East Division leading Pats after Regina’s 3-2 win over Victoria.
