On the same night he was named Team MVP, Swift Current Captain Colby Cave played hero again pulling the Broncos ahead in the third period for the second straight game in a 5-4 win over Moose Jaw.
Cave’s goal midway through the period broke a 3-3 tie and Jay Merkley would seal the Friday night victory with his second of the game into an empty net. Moose Jaw cut into that lead when Bryson Gore scored his second of the game with eleven seconds left in the game.
Cave also scored the go-ahead goal in a comeback win over the Blades on Wednesday.
“Just typical Bronco style,” said Broncos Assistant Coach Jamie Heward. “We came out of (an early deficit) and ended up outchancing them.”
“I thought we played well down the stretch and obviously you get a chance to win it at the end which we did. That’s the way that our team has been playing the last little while.”
