After his first full pro season saw him help the St. John’s Ice Caps to an AHL finals run, former Broncos captain and WHL MVP Adam Lowry is set to start the 2013-14 season with the NHL’s Winnipeg Jets. It’s a pretty awesome accomplishment for the second year pro to be in the NHL this soon and says a lot about the work he has done to get there. No one who saw Lowry in Swift Current should be surprised as few players made the major strides year to year that Lowry did thanks to his off-season dedication and in-season work ethic. His size and hockey smarts makes him versatile enough to be in the NHL without having to get top six minutes to contribute. How big of a scorer he will be at the pro level is still to be determined by how he performs as he continues to grow, but I think there is little question that he will be a pro for a long time to come.
