The Swift Current Broncos have secured a piece of their future by signing 2015 first round bantam draft pick Riley Stotts to a WHL standard player agreement.
“It sure is (a relief),” said Broncos Coach/GM Mark Lamb. “He’s a special player that we took 10th overall and we really need him in this organization. He’s a gamebreaker and a great skater. We’re very happy to get him signed.”
In 29 games, Stotts had 39 goals and 29 assists with the Winnipeg AAA Bantam Monarchs last season.
Broncos Coach/GM Mark Lamb on Stotts:
Coach Lamb told me last night he hopes to get Stotts into some games during the pre-season. That could come as soon as Saturday against Medicine Hat if it all lines up properly. This is great news for the club as they’ve locked up a player who should be their next generation #1 centre. I look forward to seeing his career evolve.
