It was like déjà vu for the Swift Current Broncos.
For the second straight game a few breakdowns in a short period of time got them in a hole they couldn’t quite climb out of.
On Friday in Brandon they got down 4-1, battled back to 4-3 and gave up a late empty-netter. That pattern repeated on Saturday against Lethbridge as they fell behind 4-0, battled back to make it 4-3 and again gave up a late empty net goal.
“The message has to be we can’t afford to give up many goals and spot teams any leads,” said Broncos assistant coach Jamie Heward. “We can stay close and keep working hard and our skill guys will take over at the end of games, but if you’re always trying to fight back and you’re always down two or three those mountains are hard to climb all the time.”
