When you’re in the midst of a losing streak it seems like everything that could go wrong will go wrong with the worst possible timing.
Late in a 1-1 game with Prince Albert on Saturday night the Swift Current Broncos were whistled for an Artyum Minulin tripping penalty and Austin Glover quickly took advantage to lift his Raiders to a 2-1 win.
It was the eight straight loss for the Broncos and six of the games have been decided by a single goal.
“It’s a heartbreaker,” said Broncos assistant coach Jamie Heward. “Easily was our best effort in this streak we’re going through right now. Guys played hard, guys played fast and guys played tough. At the end of the day we didn’t catch a break and had a lot of chances where we didn’t get goals out of it.”
“It all comes down to a bellow average penalty call with 1:39 left that’s not even acceptable at any level. It’s a heartbreaking loss for our kids.”
