Travis Child made 39 saves to earn the Swift Current Broncos a point in a 2-1 shootout loss to the Calgary Hitmen on Sunday.
The loss extended Swift Current’s losing skid to eleven games as they continue to battle through injuries to players both in and out of the lineup.
“We got the effort that we wanted this weekend,” said Broncos assistant coach Jamie Heward. “The guys played hard both nights. I thought our guys battled pretty hard. I’m proud of the way they played in circumstances that aren’t in our favour right now with injuries and a lot of things going south for us.”
“Child played exceptionally well tonight and (Landon) Bow last night played very well. We’re outgunned with our injuries and it’s nice to see guys are stepping up after a dismal performance against Brandon. The work ethic was fantastic.”
