The Swift Current Broncos have lately turned their biggest weakness into their strength.
A team that has lost 18 one-goal games this season is finding a way to overcome adversity and win the close games lately.
It happened again today as Tyler Steenbergen scored in overtime to lift the Broncos over Prince Albert 3-2.
“It is nice to see the results sway our way in these types of games,” said Broncos associate coach Ryan Smith. “Guys have fought through that and maybe learned from that. That’s good to see. We’ve broke through and won these close games. Even when things aren’t going our way we’re defending well. Things are trending in the right direction.”
It was the second straight overtime win on the weekend for the Broncos who beat Prince George 4-3 on Friday.
