Interview with Broncos draft pick Carson Dyck:
The Swift Current Broncos drafted forward Carson Dyck with their first pick of the second round in last week’s WHL Bantam Draft. He went 26th overall (although really 25th given Portland not being able to make their first round pick) to the same organization where his uncle Joel played during the late 80s and early 90s.
I still have quite a few draft picks to talk to and that will come ASAP.
I also want to congratulate the Brandon Wheat Kings and former Broncos D Jordan Thomson for their WHL Championship win. That team was tremendously well built and was full value for hoisting the Ed Chynoweth Cup. At the same time kudos to former Broncos Landon Bow, Cavin Leth, Andreas Schumacher and the Seattle Thunderbirds for a terrific ride to the league final. They all contributed to an impressive post-season for Seattle and Bow in particular should have done enough to get himself a real shot at a pro deal after that run.
Now it will be Brandon and Red Deer representing out league in the Memorial Cup with former Broncos on both teams. All the best to them.
