The Swift Current Broncos have a busy weekend ahead of them with the challenges of a WHL schedule apparent this early in the season.

They’re in Prince Albert tonight before hosting Medicine Hat on Saturday and heading to Brandon for an afternoon game on Sunday.

Swift Current will be looking to build on the success they had last Sunday in a 6-0 win in Saskatoon that was a more accurate reflection of the type of game they want to play.

“I thought the guys in front of me played very well,” said goaltender Travis Child. “The defencemen were steady and made good passes, the forwards were able to get on the forecheck and force them to make turnovers. It was really good to see. I felt like I was seeing the puck well and the guys in front of me were giving me a chance to see the puck every time.”

From an offensive standpoint the top line really clicked for Swift Current on Sunday with Tyler Steenbergen, Aleksi Heponiemi and Calvin Spencer combining for 10 points. Steenbergen and Heponiemi have been paired together for much of the pre-season and the start of the regular season so far.
