Tyler Steenbergen is quickly becoming ‘Mr. Overtime.’
The 18-year-old scored the overtime winner for the third time this season as the Swift Current Broncos beat the Calgary Hitmen 3-2 tonight.
“We were getting a little tired at the end of our shift,” Steenbergen said. “(Lane Pederson) made a nice drop pass to me and I realized the d-man was a forward so I made a quick step to the middle, chucked it on net and luckily it went in.”
Steenbergen now sits third in the WHL in goals with 13 and tied for second in the league with 4 game winning goals. He also scored the OT winners in Prince George and at home against Spokane.
