The Saskatchewan Hockey Hall of Fame holds its first ever induction banquet tomorrow night at the Credit Union iPlex. We get to pay tribute to some of the greatest legends in our sport as Swift Current unveils the physical Hall of Fame we will play host to. The list of inductees is just incredible. The fact that legends like Bryan Trottier and Glenn Hall will be here tomorrow has to be exciting for everyone who has a ticket. We also get another chance to honour the 1989 Broncos, several other historic teams and builders who made this sport what it is today. Our host tomorrow night is none other than TSN’s Darren Dreger. I had a chance to chat with one of the hardest working and most plugged in people in hockey about his opportunity to host tomorrow’s festivities.

Dreger should bring a lot of knowledge and entertainment value to the banquet. I’m also really looking forward to seeing Broncos legend Bryan Trottier speak on behalf of the inductees. Among those inductees is the 1982-83 University of Saskatchewan Huskies. I had the honour of interviewing their Head Coach (and a man who has coached at all levels of hockey) Dave King.

Tomorrow should be a great night and I’m hopeful I’ll be able to pull together some more audio with the legends in attendance. From what I understand the event is now sold out or at least very close. It was completely booked until they were able to get numbers on family members of inductees who are attending. Once that opened up some tickets they got gobbled up quickly. This institution is something Swift Current can be really proud of housing. I really look forward to getting a look at it and celebrating the history of this great sport tomorrow night.
